Karoliina Koivisto is a Finnish violinist and a cultural producer
living in Copenhagen since 2002. She has a BA degree in
violin at the University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki, a Masters degree in violin at the Royal Danish Academy of Music (Copenhagen) and a BA degree in Arts Management HUMAK University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki.
Karoliina works as a festival producer in the Helsinki Chamber Music Festival and in Fejøs Festival Denmark. In addition to the festival producing, Karoliina works as an agent / coordinator at AMC / Amchara Classical. Karoliina has worked as a cultural producer in Concert Gate, an innovation project at the University of Copenhagen department of Data Science.
Karoliina is interested in different musical genres from classical to contemporary and has gained many experiences in the Nordic culture field by being an active and versatile freelance musician in symphony orchestras in Denmark, Finland and Sweden such as The Royal Danish Opera Orchestra, Copenhagen Philharmonic, Malmo Symphony Orchestra, Malmo Opera and The Chamber Orchestra of Lapland.
She has also contributed as a theatre musician in musicals at Det ny Teater in Copenhagen including The Phantom of the Opera, Love Never Dies, Evita, The Beauty and The Beast, Sound of Music, Jekyll and Hyde.
She has worked with inspiring artists, conductors, composers and cultural persons such as Plácido Domingo, Kolja Blacher, Robert Trevino, Nikolaj Znaider, John Stårgårds, Leif Segerstam, Aleksander Vedernikov, Kaija Saariaho, Einojuhani Rautavaara, Sarah Brightman, Kaj Chydenius, Johann Johansson, Kalevi Aho, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Robi Lakatos etc.
