Zachary James Hatcher, born January 5th 1996, is an American harp soloist currently residing in Copenhagen, Denmark. Mr. Hatcher began studying the harp at the age of four and performed his debut recital at the age of six.
In 2011 Hatcher was admitted to the Juilliard School’s Pre-College Division where he studied with June Han (solo repertoire) and Bridget Kibbey (chamber music).
In 2012 Hatcher performed his Concerto Debut by performing the premier of Lowell Liebermann’s ‘Concerto for flute and harp’ with duet partner Stéfan Ragnar Hoskuldsson of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the New Jersey Youth Symphony.
In 2014 Hatcher became the first American to have been accepted to the Conservatoire Nationale Supérieure de Musique et de Danse de Paris in the harp class of Isabelle Moretti.
In 2015 Hatcher was then recruited by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra where he currently performs as harp soloist of the orchestra.
Hatcher remains an active soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe and the United States as well enthusiastically teaching in Denmark.
